Cinemateque de Tanger
Yto Barrada and Sean Gullette working with Cinema Rif commissioned a film made inside a camera obscura. Erected and covered in a traditional Moroccan tent, the film was made opposite a rooftop opposite the cinema overlooking the main square in Tangiers. The film 20 minutes in total was filmed over 12 hours, recording the life of the square changing light with the central cinema brought to life as the light dimmed into night. This film was exhibited as part of The Photographers’ Gallery exhibition, “Explorations in Film and Video” 2007.
