Hi you poor thing! It sounds as if you’re rellay suffering, from the pain of the migraines and food allergies and this is causing you distress because you do not understand the reasons for either. This must be very frightening. I too suffered from migraines as a teenager. I finally figured out that bright lights such as the flash of a camera, the shine from a car’s chrome bumper-bar would trigger the migraines. First my eyesight would become disrupted by sparkles’, but sometimes my sight went completely, then the terrible pain behind one eye (usually the right) would begin and I felt sick and often vomited. All I could do was curl up in a darkened place and just like you, panadol etc was unhelpful. The relief as the pain subsided was amazing, but the next day was usually spent recovering in a nauseous, exhausted state. My teachers believed I was faking to evade class! I did grow out of’ the migraines and I believe they were hormonal. Migraines are pretty common, though some are more severe than others I was perfectly healthy otherwise. My parents took me to specialists feeling the migraines to be a side effect of life’s challenges. I didn’t believe this then, nor do I 30 years later. I am not a doctor and I don’t know whether there is any correlation or connection between migraines and allergies; but I will say that I also suffered from eczema, am allergic to cats (guess what? also rabbit and guinea pig fur which I’m pretty sure is the same as hamster) and also from hay fever. I have since had children of my own who have suffered from eczema, asthma, hay fever and extreme food allergies to peanuts and eggs (We need to carry adrenaline because of these) also you guessed it, migraines in their teenaged years and have grown out of these. Specialists I have seen, have spoken of connections between asthma, eczema, substance and food allergies as they are all allergic responses, only different types.I wanted to share my experiences with you to let you know that I too have felt like you and you’re not alone and don’t feel so frightened. I should also add that we are a close, healthy, rural living family because some may believe that we lead a stressful or over sanitised life. People often judge others without real knowledge of why. Also, I don’t know where you’re writing from, but in Australia, you can obtain a Medicare card that is personal to you from the age of 15, even though it’s attached to your parents’ main card (if you feel the need to visit a doctor independently). It is sometimes hard for others to understand as this is not a typical illness or injury that you can see. Of course that doesn’t make it any less distressing. By the way, I also found that worrying makes things worse!Best of Luck you’ll be fine!
